The Mentoring
Program provides positive one to one relationships with
youth ages 10 to 18 years old. Mentors promote healthy
and active youth through positive role-modeling.
Positive role modeling is the main
aspect of the Mentoring Program. Mentors spend
approximately 3 to 4 hours a week with a youth. Some
activities may include fishing, swimming, photography,
attending local sporting events, assisting in completing
homework, seeking and maintaining employment and
volunteering in the community.
The youth may be referred in a
variety of ways: through the youth's school,
Diversionary Committee, Social Service Agencies, the
Department of Corrections, or through the Judicial
System. |
